~ Meet Catherina ~
The lady behind Cucina di Catherina
“A True Local Delicacy with International Roots”
Catherina, AKA Cathy, was born in Johnston, RI to the parents of Ron and Cheryl Paliotta. Cathy attributes her passion for great cuisine to her Mother and her passion for her Italian heritage to her Father. Some of Cathy’s fondest memories growing up took place around the dinner table with her family. Cathy’s love for family and friends is one of the reasons she decided to share her family’s “Sunday Gravy”. Cathy believes that food is not only for nutrition, for the body, but also nutrition for the soul by bringing family and friends back together around the dinner table and making memories that last a lifetime.
Cathy’s grandfather Mario Paliotta came over from Naples, Italy on the Conte Rosso in 1945. Her pasta sauce recipe comes from a line of Italians originating in the early 1900’s. With American creativity from her Mother Cheryl, Cathy has brought this amazing sauce to true perfection in a jar!
